The latino news paper "El Tiempo Hispano" (i.e., The Hispanic Times) July 1, 2011 edition featured the ARTADDICTION Show on their front page. You can see it here in Spanish and English.

Below is an example of the promotional material provided by the Latin American Coummunity Center for their 2011 ARTADDICTION Show.

Prevention Promoters at the Latin American Community Center presents ARTADDICTION, a unique art contest!

We invite participants to explore addiction through artistic expression. Prevention Promoters developed the addiction art project because of its pivotal role in the education and prevention of substance abuse.

ARTADDICTION welcomes everyone, 18 years old and above, to present art work in painting (all techniques), drawing, photography, graphic design and collage that explores the theme of addiction and recovery. Jurors for the event are particularly interested in seeing how effective, clear and expressive the work is in depicting the human side of addiction.

Deadline: Works of art will be accepted until 4 PM on June 16, 2011 and can be delivered at the Latin American Community Center located on 403 N. Van Buren St. Wilmington, DE 19805.

Show and Reception: The Award reception will take place on Wednesday, June 23, 2011 at 5:30 PM at the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts (DCCA). Selected art pieces will be on exhibit at DCCA until July 1.

The top three finalists will receive cash prizes!

There are many that argue that art is reserved for those that have the talent, but reality tells us that art can be practiced by any person. All you need is imagination and the desire to share what you feel inside.
